Empire: Total War is a real-time tactics and turn-based strategy game published by Sega and developed by Creative Assembly. The fifth installment of the series of Total War, the game was released on March 3, 2009 in North America, and the whole world the next day. The game Empire: Total War, which focuses on early modern period of the 18th century, was announced at the Leipzig Games Convention in August 2007. The Mac OS X version of the game will be released by Feral Interactive.
After a similar interface and style of play earlier Total War titles, players choose a contemporary 18th century faction and set out to ensure the sovereignty of that faction of the then known world through military force, politics, diplomacy , espionage and economics. Although the campaign element of the game is turn-based, players can direct battles in real time. Empire: Total War is the first game of the series to allow naval battles take place in real time. Besides the usual campaign, the game includes a special campaign that follows the development of the United States from the settlement of Jamestown to the American Revolution. Players can also participate in various historical reenactments of battles from the early modern era.

As i checked this download I think the installation notes in the first comment was not updated. coz the link on the post was updated.
Here’s the real installation guide for this:
Install Notes:
Mount or Burn images
Install using setup.exe on DVD1 or run autorun
Copy over cracked files from the Razor1911 dir on DVD1 to your install folder

If you still encounter crashing try to download the fix and replace it with the the razor1911 files… hope this helps… sorry for the trouble…

To continue unpacking, file ’empire total war_disk1_0.sid’ is required from disc 1 this comes up all time….

D3d/dx9 errors/missing dll? Update DirectX.

i seem to be facing the same problem as harties2, I used demontool to mount both discs, then they finished installation. Afterwards, i opened up program files to see the empire folder had to game.exe. Just really confused as how to proceed. I tried reinstallation, didnt work. I am assuming there must be something wrong with the way i install. They asked me to find certain files, and i found them manually…however the last file i was asked to find, i had to find the same file three times, and after the third time, installation abruptly stopped. I reckon thats probs the culprit
have you installed directx on your pc? make sure you have updated it as you need this in every game you install
there is no sound of cannon firing in naval battles.do you know how to fix it

even with the crack there is still no sound of gunshots or cannons
But can you still play it? I think there are lots of people having the same problem as yours (even the ones who bought it). Try to update your drivers. That might help… This sound problems occur depends on your system…

what do you mean by mount or burn image files? I know that a program called daemon tools is used but I don’t understand why or how?

if you mount you will need poweriso or deamontools to provide you with the virtual drives. if you choose burn you will need a blank dvd and burn the .iso file using your dvd drive. hope this helps…

alright thanks, I don’t have any past experiences with such things, I’ve downloaded the program and I’m prepared to burn also, which one is the easiest?
The main thing that confuses me is the simple “mount or burn images” – what images? As in literally some image files that are in the completed folder? It’s still downloading but I just want to be prepared once it’s done haha.
