World in Conflict: Soviet Assault is an expansion pack for real-time tactics strategy video game World in Conflict. It was developed by Massive Entertainment Studios and swordfish and was released on March 2009.  World in Conflict: Soviet Assault has the ability to play as the Soviet Union in the single player campaign, where the player fought in the original World in Conflict, as well as adding additional multiplayer maps.

The game World in Conflict: Soviet Assault is set in an alternate 1989 in which the Politburo of the Soviet Union elects to take military action to sustain itself, and not collapse. Failing to achieve aid diplomatically, the Soviet Union invaded Western Europe. However, apart from the standard U.S. campaign, the player assumes the role of Romanov, a lieutenant in the Soviet Army under the command of Colonel Vladimir Orlovsky. Orlovsky also commands two other subordinates in the battalion, his nephew Captain Nikolai Malashenko old friend Major Valeriy Lebedjev, one KGB officer attached to the battalion. The extension adds a total of six Soviet missions scattered between the missions of the original game, thus completing the story and acts as an update on the campaign keeping units and the characteristics of the original game.
