yes vcredist_x64.exe is for 64bit if you are using it… Have you tried running the game even if you didn’t successfully installed vcredist_x64.exe?

Install directx (use microsoft website to download) in your system
Install microsoft microsoft .NET framework in your system

Ummm… I just downloaded the sims 4 from the link in the post. Is it updated like the one in the comment section? if not, lol now i gotta download that one. Are you running the game as administrator? Please make sure you run the game as administrator and let us know if you still encounter any problems…
Hey all. I was getting the “The dynamic library rld.dll failed to initialize (E0)” error like some, and it was driving me crazy. I tried all the fixes listed above, including running as admin and installing the files mentioned. Nothing worked as I still received the same error. Then as I was about to give up I realized the dll was missing because my virus scanner was removing it in the background every time I extracted it. Turned off scanner and now the game works great. . So, if you are getting that error try shutting off your scanner during install, then telling it to allow the file later for future scans. Hope this might help some of you.

If you install the game make sure that your antivirus doesn’t remove any files in your game dir… the best way to prevent it is by disabling your antivirus and excluding the game dir to it…

We didnt encounter that problem when we installed it… have you disabled you antivirus/or the same before installing the UPDATE?
To anyone who sees no changes in the game: It’s because you probably have Origin activated and connected online. For you to have the DLCs you’ll have to turn off Origin. Otherwise you can still use the gallery but you won’t see any DLCs. Sucks that we have to choose between them, but hopefully there will be a fix in the future!

As FeelingMyOats said, if you want to play the DLC’s you will need to disable origin (dont run it or disable your internet)… please make sure you have disabled your antivirus when installing the game…
