DayZ (DayZ Standalone) is a multiplayer open world survival horror video game in development by Bohemia Interactive and the stand-alone version of the award-winning mod of the same name. DayZ was released on 16 December 2013 on PC for Microsoft Windows via digital distribution platform Steam, and is currently in early alpha testing.
About the Game
DayZ is a gritty, authentic, open-world survival horror hybrid-MMO game, in which players follow a single goal: to survive in the harsh post-apocalyptic landscape as long as they can. Players can experience powerful events and emotions arising from the ever-evolving emergent gameplay. There are no superficial tips, waypoints, built in tutorials or help given to players. Every decision matters, there are no save games, no extra lives, every mistake can be lethal. If you fail, you lose everything and you need to play again from the beginning with nothing but your wits, and your two hands. Fight the hostile environment, where every other player can be friend or foe and nothing can be taken for granted.

how can i play?
Try to search google for new and updated servers or try this http://www.gametracker.com/search/dayz/ . some say you can also use tunngle.

This is the standalone version so you can play without it…
He’s sayin unable to locate a running instance of steam
Go into the Dayz folder and delete the steam_api.dll
Then download the steam_api.dll from this torrent
DayZ_Steam_Early_Access_v0_29
Then put it in the Dayz folder of this one and it runs.
Hopping that you’ll find available servers to play the game… Coz right now I think it is hard to find working servers…
By all the cracked servers I checked is a red X
How do you get to a server/ enter an IP?
Forget my last comment, but my real question is, is there ANY servers at all that you can play on? I’ve spent 4 hours looking for one.

Instructions:
At the gamme lobby, click on “change server” then “Remote”.
enter the adress and port of the server you want to join
When I tried it, it said “Bad version, Server rejected connection” I’m using the 0.30 one.
@Darkwolf6180 I think there are no servers until now for the v.30…
If u wish to play on pirate servers since they mostly support 0.28. coz an option to launch dedicated server was removed in further updates.

Downloaded the .28, server still rejected the version.

3) Run the “DayZ.exe” as administrator.
4) Navigate toto find a list of server IP addresses.
5) At the main menu, Press the text with your windows name and edit it to your nickname.
6) Click Change Server > Remote
7) Enter an IP address and port.
8) Click OK > Connect

[ RUNNING A SERVER ]
1) Navigate to Config/server.cfg
2) Edit and save server.cfg to suit your needs
3) Run the “DayZ Server Launcher.bat”
The game loads up but when i try to find server or load up the game by pressing play it starts loading and fails sends me back to desktop

Have you tried running the game as administrator?
Anyway, you can also try this solution.
First download these files –

Open both and copy & replace the files.
Now click ‘Dayz Whitelister.exe’ and choose a name and click on ok and the whitelist button.
Now close it and run ‘DayZ.exe’ and it should run.
