It is the third game released in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series of computer games after S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky, by telling the events of the game after the first. First published on October 2, 2009 in the territories of the CIS published by GSC World, before being released later on February 2 and February 5 in North America and Europe.
