Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI, also called as Sangokushi 11 (RTK 11), is the 11th installment in the famous Romance of the Three Kingdoms series from Koei. The game was released on March 17, 2006 for PC in Japan, and later Traditional Chinese version in Taiwan on July 27. Official English Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI version for PC announced on April 23, 2008, to be released on July 29 in North America. However, the release date was delayed until 9 September 2008. There is an expansion pack for the PC version, but was not included in the English language, is available only in Eastern markets. This marked the return of a PC version of Koei’s Romance of the Three Kingdoms for the English market, which has not happened since November 30, 1995, with the U.S. release “Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV:. Wall of Fire”
Some of the 3D models in Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI is borrowed from Dynasty Warriors 4. 32 historical figures rather than the Three Kingdoms era can be unlocked after the player completes all courses game.

Hi Mikel, You will need to copy the crack to your installation dir to make the game work. You can find it by opening the rld-rtkx.iso
Here’s the installation guide for this game:
Burn or mount the image
Install the game
Copy the cracked content over from the Crack directory on the disc to your installation directory
Play the game

Nope, it’s not happening. Is it bcause I’m using Windows 8?
Do I install the game and then go: C>Program Files>Koei>RTKXI (where the game’s installed files are) and then drag the fake application file from the CRACK folder into it?
If that’s the case, it doesn’t work.
If I’m supposed to install the game and then put the fake application file (because that’s the only thing in the CRACK folder) in the RTKXI folder from which I install the game, well guess what?
That doesn’t work either!
I played this game years ago on my Vista and loved it, so am disappointed that it won’t work for me now (stupid insert disc).

We haven’t tried this on win 8. Sorry… but here’s what you can try…
Run the game in compatibility mode. you can read our faqs page on “How to setup compatibility mode on windows?”
Make sure you place the crack in the correct folder… Open it via WinRar or another mounting program run the AutoRunInstall.Exe then go to your C > Program Files > Koei > and copy the exe in the crack folder and paste it into the koei folder, and replace.

It turns out that I was using the SETUP and not AutoRunInstall as you helpfully mentioned to use!
I can now confirm that the game DOES WORK ON WINDOWS 8, but here are a couple of things:
– it installs to C>Program Files (x86)>Koei; I really recommend that other users leave it as this.
– trying to DRAG the crack (RTKXI) application DOES NOT WORK – it always results in an error message that the shortcut cannot be made in the folder and do you want to put it on the desktop.
– DELETE the RTKXI file from where the game installed and right click>COPY the RTKXI file that is the crack folder.
– Right click and PASTE the crack file. Start game… it works like a charm.
A final point is that it doesn’t seem to allow me to play so that it’s not full screen, which used to be handy so that I could keep one eye on my Inbox when I was supposed to have been working. Now I have to press the Windows Key, where I get a warning that the game may crash.
I also use CLASSIC SHELL, so other Windows 8 users may experience problems I cannot comment on.
I used to own the official game on PS2 but it’s much better on PC… which makes it a shame then that I installed a version found online instead of buying it anew. I hope that such deeds don’t prevent a 13th game being made (I heard that 12 was horrible).

Here’s what you can try for Window mode:
Main Menu > Options > Settings > Screen
There should be a lot of choices, ranging from 1024×768 up to 1600×1200 (if your system suports it). The window option should only appear for resolutions lower than your desktop, I’d guess. So if your desktop is only 1024×768, it might not let you use windowed mode.

Maybe that’s the problem – it’s a new laptop so I’m not too sure yet.
On a final note, I just wanted to point out that videos for this game do not play on my Windows 8 (with DirectX 11 installed). The games works perfectly but the introduction is audio only on a black screen.
I suggest that users just click on the screen until seeing the Loading… message. This game does not contain videos other than the introductions, so this should not affect the quality of gaming.

I have encountered the problem… what i did is (dont know if remember it right) right click this icon > properties > compatibility > check disable desktop composition > apply then ok run the game
